Abstract

This research addresses a contemporary historical social issue concerning the role of women in society. Since early generations, women were traditionally associated with domestic responsibilities. However, following the Industrial Revolution in the nineteenth century, female labor gradually gained prominence in different sectors of the workforce. This study adopts a bibliographic methodology based on literature reviews, scientific articles, and news reports. Its main objective is to demonstrate how the inclusion of women has contributed to improvements in administrative management activities in contemporary organizations. Furthermore, it examines the challenges faced by women in the workplace, including misogyny and gender discrimination, as well as the importance of gender equity policies in promoting the fundamental right to equality established in Article 5, caput, of the 1988 Brazilian Federal Constitution, particularly regarding equal pay for women and men performing the same job.
